Like A River Glorious (piano solo)

This is the tenth track on my CD, A Place of Quiet Rest II, and one I have used as an offertory numerous times.  I have also had several younger high school players in our church play this arrangement without any difficulty. The piece is flowing and can be kept quiet throughout, although I tend to play page three (especially the area with the left hand octave melody) louder in a live setting as compared to the CD.

No Not One (piano solo)

This is really a pretty simple arrangement with essentially the same movement in both hands over and over. The main challenge is gaining a comfort level with being all over the keyboard in different octaves.

A Child Of The King (piano solo)

This is probably my favorite song from my first CD.  My goal was to make the arrangement reflect the child-like faith we should have in our Father’s unfailing care for us.

Tell It To Jesus (piano solo)

What a wonderful hymn with a timeless reminder that our first course of action in every situation of life should be to “tell it to Jesus”!

Speak, O Lord (piano solo)

This is another wonderful song by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend.  I would consider this to be an advanced-intermediate piano solo, although it is only the last verse that contains any real degree of difficulty.

Grace Greater Than Our Sin (piano solo)

This hymn is my favorite old hymn…I find such comfort in the words! Mindful of the emotion the song conveys, I chose to employ some of the sounds and techniques of the classical romantic era (think Chopin and rubato).  Like most of my stuff, I think an advanced intermediate player would find this quite accessible.

In Christ Alone (piano solo)

If I could only have my children learn one hymn, it might well be this one. God gave Keith Getty and Stuart Townend the amazing clarity to communicate the entire gospel in just four verses! What a blessed gift this song has been to the church! In creating this arrangement, I did my best to reflect the words. You will notice this especially in verses three and four. I trust you may find this arrangement useful for your ministry. God bless!
